Happy Monday! Today I’m happy to be sharing a quilt I made from one of Fat Quarter Shop’s latest books, Fat Quarter Baby! I have a new granddaughter, so I was excited to get to make another quilt for her using one of the cute patterns from the book.
I was assigned to make the “Hannah” quilt, and I knew right away I wanted to use Prairie by Corey Yoder for Moda.
The “Hannah” quilt uses just 4 fat quarters along with an eighth yard piece and background, backing and binding fabric. I cut out the quilt and placed all of the parts and pieces on one of my design boards.
I had some left over scrappy Prairie fabric binding left over from the first baby quilt I made my daughter, and with the addition of just a few extra scrappy pieces it was just enough to bind this quilt.
I did make a couple of changes…instead of using just four fat quarters I was able to use fat eighths and use two different prints for most of the blocks. This helped me make it even a little more scrappy and fun!
For background I used some of the tone on tone dots from the Daysail collection by Bonnie & Camille for Moda. It added a fun touch of whimsy to this already cute design.
My quilt is at the quilter’s right now, but I have the binding all ready to go when it comes back!
I’ll be sure to share this again when it’s all finished!
We’re definitely in love with this little quilt here at our house. And there are a lot more wonderful projects in the book…20 baby quilts for girls and boys along with a bonus table runner, too!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you’ll visit the other stops on the blog tour to see the other wonderful quilt designs–stop by the Jolly Jabber blog to get all of the information about this blog tour.
