Hello and happy Monday! I’m happy to say I made quite a bit of progress on my Fig Tree County Fair quilt at the end of last week…in fact, I was able to finish all of the blocks, make the sashing and 9-patch posts, and set the middle section of the quilt together.
I am so glad I decided to keep working on this! It really is a fun pattern, and I
love the mix of the Farmhouse and Chestnut Street fabrics! I think it’s a little softer but brighter because of mixing the two collections.
I’m hoping to get the borders on today…there are four borders…an inner cream border, then a red border, then a green border with a cream border on the outside. I have quite a bit of the black polka dots left, so I’m thinking I planned to bind it with that.
And…since I had used a lot of the green I originally purchased for the border while this sat in a drawer for over a year, I picked up some Chestnut Street green the other day (my red border will be from the Farmhouse collection).
I’ll get a couple of pictures after I add the borders and share it one more time before it’s off to the quilter!
Thanks so very much for stopping by!

The quilt is beautiful, and your work looks impeccable, Sherri. With so many borders, how do you keep them from flaring out at the bottom of the strips? I am a very careful sewer, yet I find my border strips want to flare at the bottom, even after I've measured and trimmed meticulously.

You sure got a lot done, and it's a very pretty quilt.

I love that sashing. The fabric is beautiful and the piecing is to die for on that sashing. Someday I would love to do that on a quilt. Can hardly wait to see the finish.

Looks fantastic! I have this pattern and have not tried it yet but you make it look so quick and simple. I am thinking about using red and white for the sashing and nine patches. Don't we always have so many ideas and not enough time! Thanks for sharing.

It's a beautiful quilt! And I'm sure it's going to be stunning after it's quilted. I love those collections. 🙂 Glad that you decided to work on it and finish it up. And I'm sure you are working on your new collection: I can't wait to see what you and Chelsea have come up with for that! 🙂 Hugs, H
