I finally had the chance to sew on the “next to last” border on my “Marcelle Medallion” quilt. The little cross blocks were so much fun to make, and the colors in this quilt just make me happy! I need to decide on an outer border and then I can finish this up. I really, really thought the Half Moon scissors on red would have been perfect for my final border (it’s the fabric Alexia uses for her outer border in the original quilt), but after several hours searching Ebay and Etsy I’ve given up. I did find a fat quarter bundle of all the scissor fabrics which I promptly purchased, but a half-yard of the red was not to be found!
On Thursday I got to have a sew day over at Camille’s house! I tell you, it’s inspirational just to be sitting and sewing in her gorgeous room…not to mention you have her right there to ask any question you might think of! I’m going to be piecing a market quilt for her, so I came home with this gorgeous stack of Scrumptious (which is, by the way, scrumptious)!
Here is my stack of finishes and almost finishes for 2013. I’m hoping to get them all quilted in the next few weeks. They look so beautiful together, and I can’t help but wonder what these colors say about me…looks like I’m definitely ready for spring!
Luckily, spring, along with spring break, is here–I have one whole week with no classes to teach and no papers to mark. I really do love teaching, but it sure is wonderful to have a break every once in a while!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I love your stack of finishes and almost finishes!! Definatly spring colors: I love the colors!! And you have us all jealous: to be able to go to sew at Camille's!! And bringing home that stack of "scrumptious" fabrics: looks like alot of fun!! Isn't spring there already in southern Nevada? My sister lives in Las Vegas and she says that the best time of year is about February. Is it colder where you are? Have a great week: can't wait to see what that fabric works into (though I know that it'll probably be quite awhile before it can be shown.) Take care, Helen in Healdsburg

I love your medallion quilt. I see there are other "fabric enablers" out there. I use quiltshops.com to look for fabrics I "need". The site says it searches 200 quilt shops for fabrics. I love your work.

I had a really great day last week too, I got to sew with YOU! Don't you think we should make that a regular thing? It just went too darn fast.
Thanks for all you do and are, I feel so lucky to call you my friend.
