Hello and happy Thursday! First, thank you so much for the kind comments from yesterday about my scrappy Log Cabin quilt…I’ll be sure to share it here as soon as it’s quilted! When I dropped of the quilt the other day I was able to pick up a couple of things…so I have a little binding to keep me busy for now!
I’m working on project number three with this beautiful Swell Christmas
collection by Urban Chiks for Moda fabrics (it will ship in the spring)! I am thinking I will need to make several more projects with this collection–it’s just such a terrific combination of vintage Christmas colors and designs. I really love it!
First I’ll need to bind this table topper (you might remember I made a fall version of this pattern earlier this year–details about the pattern on the fall topper post). I’m already planning a spring version using The Front Porch fabrics. You can bet I’ll be making several more of these throughout next year…it’s just the perfect size for our small round breakfast table.
And then I also need to bind this runner for my kitchen; I’m thinking of using the red Santa fabric for the binding to really make it pop! This really is the perfect pattern if you need to making something fast. I’ve usually quilted these runners myself using simple straight lines, but this time I left it with my friend Marion who quilted it using a simple cross-hatch; I absolutely love it! Find the free tutorial for this here (I just made three blocks instead of five as in the tutorial).
Marion also quilted my trees runner (see the original post with pattern information here) with a perfect pattern! I love how the close-set wavy lines give the illusion of snow flurries! I used scraps from my stash for this one and bound it using a Bonnie & Camille red polka dot.
I’m hoping to work on a couple of more Christmas things today and am also working on getting everything posted for this year’s block of the month finishing instructions–I’ll have it finalized soon.
Happy quilting, and thanks so much for stopping by!

I love these. I need to make a quickie table runner for my friend Karen. She is such an angel. We became good friends when I moved my mom and dad here after mom had her stroke. That was 4 years ago.
She was mom's morning care giver. She is so wonderful.
I need to make her something really pretty
I always love your ideas
