Happy June! Today, I’m sharing the 6th set of blocks in the Blogger Girls Block of the Month quilt along. Be sure to download all of the block patterns from Monique now while they are still free (if you haven’t started collecting them yet). Each month features one block design with an alternate block which is different due to variations in fabric placement.
This month I was able to use scraps from some of my market sewing to piece my blocks…Somerset is the upcoming Fig Tree collection that will be available this fall.
I think the second version is my favorite this month…
But I really do love each and every block. I didn’t realize until I started this months blocks that I was supposed to make 3 last month…make sure you make the third block for month five.
Along with the thirteen blocks you will be making 12 setting blocks (this will be a straight set quilt with 5 rows of 5 blocks each). So…I figured I’d better get started on my setting blocks. I got them all cut out and made one…it goes together easily and is really going to set of the other blocks.
Something else I started catching up on this month was adding the finishing pieces to the edges of all of the blocks. I had been adding the cream solid strips as I went along but now need to also add the corner fabrics.
Here you can see my monthly blocks with the cream borders but without the corner fabrics as added above. I have 12 more blocks to add corner pieces to and also need to finish up the other 11 setting blocks.
Next month will be the big reveal…I can hardly wait to see how this all plays together…I think it’s going to be a stunning setting for these beautiful blocks.
Be sure and stop by these blogs to see additional versions of this fun quilt!

I love the second version this month. It really does make a lot of sense to add the sashing and such as you go along. So much less sewing at the end. I'll have to try it that way.

I do agree with the second block being the favourite. Just love your fabrics and can't wait to see them all together in the quilt.

I am crushing on these choice of colors. Our quilt guild did a crayon challenge and I thought I got the worst colors but it is what you so with them that makes them awesome. Kudos!

Love the Somerset Collection that you used. I will have to make another one in the Fall when this collection is available.
I'm just getting involved with this BOM (better late than never!). I'm trying to find Block#5. Did I miss it? We seem to go from #4 to #6.
