Hi sherri!
Thank you for sharing the joy of quilting with me!!
Do you think you could have a discussion about the process of designing fabric and quilt patterns..I am an interior designer and would love to finish each full house project with a small quilt as a gift but I would need to design a pattern that would be a nod to their home’s style and coloring .. and I would like it to be my own creation…
If you don’t feel you want to review this on your podcast, would you share with me personally, the process…?
I would greatly appreciate any “getting started” information…I don’t hear quilt/fabric designers ever review the actual process,
(what computer program you started with to design fabric patterns as well as the pattern-making process…
All my best,
with warmth and love,
Ginger Surasky

I love your podcasts! They are so informative and all the topics and questions are always useful and of interest.
I have a question of my own: I’m a fairly new quilter and since the pandemic I have had the chance to work on some quilting projects. I get impatient as I approach the finish line! I wonder if I should bind my quilting projects completely by machine as it is faster, or should I take more time, and machine sew the binding to the top of the quilt and hand stitch the back? I think of this as I take on some large queen-sized quilts.
What do you do? Is there a rule, or is it personal preference.
Thank you for considering my question.
In addition, I was also wondering: Can polyester thread be used for sewing together or binding a quilt that is made of 100% cotton fabric and batting that is at least 80%, if not, 100% cotton. Sometimes the colour choices and availability are better for polyester threads, and sometimes it’s all I have on hand in my sewing room when I want to get working on a project! Am I better to wait until the stores reopen or can I go ahead and use what I have, even if it’s polyester?
Thank you again, Wanda H.

This is the first podcast of yours that I listened to and I’ve learned so much! I’m not sure where to submit a question but here goes 🙂
I am a younger quilter (32 lol with three small children) and I am wondering if anyone else has negative or unfriendly experiences in Quilt shops ? Two of the three small quilt stores in our town (and one I just went to in Salt Lake City) are kind of stand off ish and occasionally outright rude to me , I don’t know if they think I don’t quilt or my kids are annoying (they are reasonably well behaved but as annoying as any child is ). I am new to quilting and I was wondering if I am missing some social rules or something here that more seasoned quilter know, or do we all experience a lack of friendliness ? Thanks so much 🙂 Linda
