Well, today is the day…you can leave a comment here to enter to win a copy of my book (International winners will receive an e-copy)! The book has 19 projects–2 bags, 3 table runners, 1 table topper, and 13 quilts ranging from wall hanging size to large lap/twin size. I really wanted to write a book with a wide variety of projects that would appeal to beginner quilters and more advanced quilters who were looking for a fun project or gift idea!
I asked everyone to leave a tip about having “A Quilting Life,” and I want to share just a couple of thoughts on that topic. First, I’m really grateful that I was able to find this wonderful past-time (thanks to my grandmother and her grandmothers before her). I appreciate being able to create beautiful things for my home and for my family and friends. And I am so grateful I can have quilting in my life. My biggest tip is really something I’ve been doing a little of this week while the tour has been going on…making specific plans for things I want to make. I’ve been doing a little organizing and cutting some “kits” from my stash. It might seem odd, but it has really been a creative thing for me to get things organized. I always get more accomplished when my sewing room is clean!
Thanks so much for the nice comments along the way as well! I so appreciate every one of my blog tour friends for helping with this, too–thanks so much Nanette, Sinta, Jodi, Judi, Lissa, Amanda, Anna, Amy, and Kristyne! Remember that you can still enter the giveaways until the 14th, and winners will be announced on Monday the 17th.
I also want to take minute today and tell you about the Quilt Bliss Event–I’ll be speaking at this wonderful event, and registration opens today! There is a wonderful group of teachers presenting at this retreat (I want to take every class)!

My best tip for a quilting life is to have a room just to yourself where you can leave everything up and ready for a 10" break of sewing/cutting/etc. If you don't have a room then take a closet where you can close the door/curtain and leave it all up/out there. Honestly this saves me hrs/weeks/months/years of time setting up and tearing down. HIH and hope I win,

The things that have helped me have a quilting life is to have my own quilting room where I don't have to pack everything up every time, to accept that it won't be perfect but to just get better every time, to embrace my love of colour and know which types of colours I like and to embrace English Paper Piecing so my quilting can go and be everywhere!

I thought of "A Quilting Life" tip that I have followed during the almost 20 years we've been living in Ossining. Take advantage of snow days. I'm a par-time reference librarian. When we close, or the raods are too trecherous for driving, I give myself a whole day of quilting and stay in my PJ's or change into jeans and my favorite quilting shirt.

I would love a chance to win this book. I find that to keep quilting and sewing an active part of my life, I have to 1. keep my stuff organized and 2. try small new projects regularly. Big projects take too long and are discouraging when you don't have the time, space or money to finish them. Plus, small projects make nice gifts!

I was just in Heber, actually Midway, for a conference. Such a pretty valley. When I make "kits" for possible projects, more than I like to admit, I forget what I've done or why, and do it all over again 6 months later! I do like to clean out though. My daughter works for Utah Festival Opera and they are so happy to take all the fabric I finally decide I will never use. I donate to them, get a tax credit and they use it in their Opera for Children workshops where school kids write and perform their own original operas. I love to feel that my castoffs have value to someone else. Love the book. Would love to win one. Thanks.

Quilting has given me the opportunity to meet new friends and share these beautiful creations with them and my family. I just attended my first retreat and I found that cutting the kits for each project ahead of time helped me to get much more accomplished. So now I have a cutting day and then I can sew uninterrupted. Thanks, Reba

I really enjoyed this Blog Hop. And I can't wait to get your book! Like you I get more done with an organized sewing area. Also I don't buy doubles of books and notions since I know where everything is.
