We had a busy week in the studio and taped a podcast, a podcast intro for a guest episode, and 7 videos! It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun! I’m actually caught up on sewing projects with deadlines for a minute as well and am looking forward to sewing some things on my bucket list this weekend and the coming week. It’s also cooling down a bit, and so I was delighted to be able to get a nice walk in yesterday morning and hope to continue that practice each day.

Saturday Seven 460: Lifestyle & More for Quilters

1. Self-Care

Now that summer is over, I’m thinking I want to get back on track with all of the things–this article has lots of ideas for that. And here are good ideas and tips to slow a racing mind. (My first step is always a brain dump on paper if possible, but I appreciated finding even more ways to help).

2. Recipes to Try

First, here is a roundup of Make-Ahead Brunch Recipes (I love breakfast any time of day)! And then because slow cooker season is here: 22 Family-Favorite Slow Cooker Dinners will get you started on fix it and forget it meals.

3. Quilt + Sew: National Sew A Jelly Roll Day!

Today is National Sew A Jelly Roll Day, and I’m going to be making a pillow using Chelsi’s Corn Maze quilt pattern. If I can’t stop at just a pillow, I may be starting the entire quilt. It’s super cute and requires 2 Jelly Rolls and 1 Charm Pack for the 73 x 73 quilt! Also, you can find even more helps for your Jelly Roll sewing including this year’s free patterns from Moda (along with previous year’s free designs) here. There are also a lot of free patterns and Jelly Roll inspiration ideas from Fat Quarter shop you can find here. As for me…hoping to have a Corn Maze pillow finished up today!

4. Book & Podcast Recommendations

I am moving right along in the Emma M Lion Journals–just started book 7 the other night, and I cannot recommend these enough! Also, here is the link to Volume 8 which isn’t included in the set. Volume 9 releases in February 2027.

6. Some Favorites

I recently got two more of these favorite sweaters–one in navy and one in mocha brown. They are really the best and are great with jeans or skirts. I also just ordered this long sleeve shirt–I loved the short sleeve versions for summer. Finally, if you listen/watch our podcast, you already know this is my go-to drink for my walks each morning.
