Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing my Saturday Seven 455: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post with a variety of inspiration I’ve found from around the internet this week. I hope you’ll find some terrific ideas for your weekend and the week ahead. There are also a couple of terrific sales going on now that I have details on below, and I’ve got information for your end of summer projects and plans!
I returned home late Sunday night from an incredible twelve days in England with Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique, Craft Tours trip manager Cherry Hill, our wonderful bus driver Sam, and 29 incredible people (mostly quilters)! I will use some photos from the trip here, and there is also a more detailed post I’ve already written on the trip.
Now that I’m home it’s back to sewing with our upcoming collection fabrics!

Saturday Seven 455: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
My self-care this week has been all about overcoming jet lag. I don’t think I’ve ever been affected this much, but I’ve also never had such a time change for such a long period of time. I’m focusing on getting as much rest as I need and also getting some exercise in. I also loved this piece on boundaries we should all have in place.
2. Recipes to Try
I can’t wait to make this Grilled Salmon with Avocado Sweet Corn Salsa. Garlic Chicken and Gnocchi is also on my list for this week. Here is a great list of easy things to cook when you’re tired. And finally–Blackberry Slump! I haven’t tried this, but it looks amazing! I can pretty much guarantee I’ll love any fruit dessert served with a scoop of ice cream!

3. Quilt + Sew
Birch & Willow is shipping! And I’ve got my final group of pre-cuts listed in the shop now. Yardage will be shipping soon, and I can hardly wait for that. Watch for some fun new patterns with this collection coming soon! I also have some fun new items in the gifts section. Plus, my Patchwork Bag pattern is now available in printed paper copies.
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
My podcast queue is full since I was out of town for so long, but here are the next two on my list. First, I can’t wait to listen to “How Do I Finish Meaningful Projects” from Cal Newport. And then next on the list is “Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do” with the Laura, Sarah, and a special guest on The Best of Both Worlds podcast.

5. Chelsi Stratton Patterns Sale + Book Sale
If you have been looking for a design by Chelsi, I have great news for you! Her patterns are on sale for 25% off at Fat Quarter Shop this month! It’s a great time to get a PDF or a paper pattern of hers you’ve been waiting for. Also, our Family Favorites book is on sale this month for 30% off. Family Favorites has a variety of blocks in different sizes with sampler quilt patterns and smaller pillow and pincushion projects included.

6. Haven Charity Quilt Raffle
Recently Fat Quarter Shop shared their 2026 Charity Quilt pattern for the Haven quilt and I was able to make one and donate it for their charity raffle. Read about this incredible event with details to try and win this quilt for a great cause below (also, there are other quilts available including ones from Pat Sloan, Lissa Alexander, and Kimberly Jolly)! Find the recent Fat Quarter Shop blog post on this event here and enter the raffle below.
