Saturday Seven 442: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this post where an artist/writer shares things she has learned about herself–seems like an awesome self-care journal project! And this post on habits that might be draining your energy was also helpful this week.
2. Recipes to Try
I love Chicken Piccata, and I love salmon, so I can’t wait to try this Salmon Piccata Recipe. I also want to try this Pistachio Chicken Salad asap! Finally, I can’t wait to try these Loaded Burger Bowls with Special Sauce after seeing them on Instagram, and the web!

3. Quilt + Sew
Such fun news–my friend Vanessa of Lella Boutique is the “Pattern of the Month” designer at Fat Quarter Shop. Find all of her patterns 25% off here! Also, did you see this amazing free pattern for the Jolly Bar Hearts Door Banner? I’m making this over the weekend but may use just 3 blocks!
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I listened to some good podcasts this week and also started a new book! This episode on a great way to offset the effects of our screen time was really helpful. I also enjoyed this productivity episode and the question that helps everything fit together. I’m also loving this book on how constraints make us better (and more creative)! The book is very reader-friendly with lots of stories and examples and has application for both business and personal life.
5. Magnificent: A New Fat Quarter Quilt
Chelsi’s Magnificent quilt (pictured below) was one of the most commented on quilts in the booth at the H + H Americas show. You can watch her recent video about this fat quarter quilt, and find the pattern in paper or PDF below. (And yes, the flags in the block centers are pieced)!

6. Home Stuff
I love Clean Mama’s simplified methods for home keeping. If you’re looking to start, but don’t know where to begin, try her 5 Things to Do in May for your Home. Also, here is a list of 10 Things You Can Declutter in the Next 10 Minutes.
