Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Quilt Works in Progress April 2026 with recent quilt block finishes, a small scrappy project idea, and more. I’ve also filmed a video showcase of all of the projects, so be sure to watch that for even more details. While I’ve been working mostly on projects I can’t share yet, there are also some fun things I’ve been working in between those other projects–and those are the projects I’m sharing today.

Designer Mystery 2022
I shared my Designer Mystery 2022 project in a MarchSew Sampler video and comitted to finishing up the final two blocks for that project this month. It’s early in the month, and they are both finished–yay! Next, I’m going to start on the setting blocks for this project. The block on the right (above) uses 16 flying geese units. (This is why I think I delayed making this one for so long). However, I was able to get them made quickly by using the Creative Grids Flying Geese Ruler. I also loved seeing how the block (above left) went together. It’s stunning, and the blog digital image did not do the finished block justice.
I do love the Designer Mystery blocks and patterns for how easy they are to cut out and put together. Also, the 2022 Designer Mystery Block patterns are available still (find them below). And the Nantucket Fabrics used for this quilt are also available now.

A Quilting Life BOM + Sewcialites 3
I’m also continuing to work on my A Quilting Life Block of the Month. The April blocks were just shared and are pictured above left. And the Sewcialites 3 Sew Along is going strong. I’m loving the 3″ finished blocks and am using a scrappy mix of our fabrics. (Find out more about the Sewcialites 3 sew along here).

3″ Block Scrappy Quilt Project
As I share in the works in progress video, I’ve been wondering what to do with some left-over small 9-patch blocks that will finish at 3″. I’ve got a good assortment of them left over from other projects and want to put them to good use. I finally decided what to do with them! Inspired by this free scrappy quilt project–I’ll start a lap quilt that will use all of these blocks. I’ll add more 9-patches along with quarter square triangles and simple squares. And I think the result will be worth it! Stay tuned for a free pattern coming for this small quilt!
