Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 427: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post. On Saturdays I share links I’ve found from around the internet that inspire my home, my sewing, and my love of home and all things organizing. I hope you’ll find some wonderful ideas from this week’s roundup.
Here at home, I’m happy to be staying pretty much in my sewing room for the weekend. I still have some organizing tasks and quite a bit of sewing to do. Most of my current projects are works in progress while we wait for sample yardage for an upcoming springtime reveal of our next group.

Saturday Seven 427: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I got some great ideas from this article with “Simple Living Tips That Actually Work.” I also loved this piece on embracing Winter! (For more on this topic you can read the book mentioned in the article, Wintering. I read it last year and truly enjoyed it).
2. Recipes to Try (And Related Topics)
This Bang Bang Crispy Shrimp looks amazing! And this list of the 2026 Customer Favorites from Trader Joe’s will have you making a run there asap! Also–I love recipes from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe and have her cookbook, too. The other day it was fun to see her fantastic presentation on How to Get Dinner on the Table (plus other related topics) on her blog. If you’re interested in this topic, be sure to check out her post and download her two extremely helpful PDFs.

3. Quilt + Sew
It’s week 3 of the True Blue QAL, and as always, Lissa has some great inspiration for you on her blog. I’m frequently asked about displaying Mini Quilts (I usually send people to this post for ideas). But I just saw this great piece on Matting Quilts as Art–another great idea for your smaller quilts and quilted blocks.
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
This week’s Deep Questions podcast has lots of ideas for dealing with messages and emails. I also thought the main topic (the internet vs. ambition) was quite interesting. Also, I’m reading Tiny Tweaks, Happy Life–it’s a light, easy-to-read book with lots of fun ideas for adding joy and fun into your schedule.

5. Livestream with Kimberly from Fat Quarter Shop
We were so grateful to have been invited to appear on yesterday’s Livestream with Kimberly! We shared quilts and had a fantastic time visiting with Kimberly. This was a virtual appearance (we were in my studio, and she was in hers), but it reminded us of all of the fun times we’ve had when visiting our friends from Fat Quarter Shop in person. Thank you Kimberly!
6. January Theme: Decluttering
I’ve been on a mission to do some major decluttering this quarter. I’ve been going through clothes, home goods, and even quilting and sewing supplies nearly daily. Here is a terrific article on this topic. And this article has a terrific printable for starting slowly on your decluttering journey!
