Hello, friends! I’m excited to share the A Quilting Life Block of the Month January 2026. Creating and sharing a free block of the month is something I’ve done since 2017–so this is my tenth year sharing a block of the month. This year’s project is going to be fun. I’m actually making two versions and am super excited about both of them. Keep reading for all of the details and to download the free PDF printable pattern.

A Quilting Life Block of the Month January 2026
2026 Quilt Details
As I shared a few weeks ago, this yearโs quilt along will be a free mystery block of the month program. This means that I will not be sharing pictures of the blocks or the finished quilt at the beginning. You can find more details on my Block of the Month Frequently Asked Questions page here. And I did share some specific details on a recent post which also includes a PDF download for the fabric requirements.
Below you’ll find this month’s free PDF block pattern. Please download for personal use only and not to distribute multiple copies. Thank you!

How to Sew Along
Head here on the first Monday of each month to download the free PDF pattern. We will also have a YouTube video sharing about the block on the first Monday of the month. The best way to stay caught up is to join my newsletter list. You’ll get one email each weekend and will be able to know about block of the month posts and other A Quilting Life announcements.

Hi Sheri, So excited to start this years BOM. Will you be showing you samples of the scrappy ones as well? I love how you coordinate your fabric, gives me such inspiration.

I have really enjoyed and looked forward each month to the 2025 bom. I did the table runner which I will put above a doorway as a wall hanging. Thanks for the two fabric options! I have lots of scraps to use and seeing the photo helps me with fabric choices. The videos are very helpful as well. Thank you for all that you do.
