Quilt Block of the Month October 2025
October Block Details
This month’s block is a delightful Ohio Star with some added sparkle! I love adding the low-volume print into the quarter-square triangles so that it frames the center square. Additionally, this Ohio Star is easy to make since we make it just a bit over-sized and trim to the perfect measurements.

Ohio Stars! Oh,, my, that’s the book I used to teach beginning quilting with, an 18 inch version with an applique heart in the center. Starting with hand piecing for those unfamiliar with a sewing machine, ending with hand quilting. I cannot count high enough to total the number of blocks I made in demonstrating the piecing! So this month it’s an old old friend!!!
