Splendid Sampler Update

Hello and happy Thursday! On Saturday I had the chance to work on my Splendid Sampler blocks! I have 29 finished now, and there are some really fun ones coming up that I can't wait to make!

This weeks blocks are both pieced blocks that are fun to make. Up first is the

Traveler block by Pat Sloan. Pat's write up for this one really resonated with me because I, too, didn't realize the travel opportunities that would come my way because of quilting!

I chose my fabrics from the  Aloha Girl and Farmhouse collections. I guess the word "travel" had me thinking about flowers!

I love this block!  The next block I pieced was the Hen and Chicks block by Heidi Kaisand. I've always loved this traditional pattern, and I was excited to  piece it! I used fabrics from four different Fig Tree collections for this one (I think).

Well, I'm in love with this one, too! It's always fun when a block with precision piecing comes out so nicely!

I used yellow in both of these blocks...I haven't sewn with yellow lately, so it was fun to add it into the mix a little more!

I love, love, love how these are coming together. With my next few blocks I need to make sure to use some more of the navy fabrics and also add in a little bit more of the soft blacks.

Go to the Splendid Sampler website to download both of these block patterns!

How is your Splendid Sampler sewing coming along? Thanks so much for stopping by!

PS Congrats to RosemaryB who is the winner of the Green Fairy Quilts giveaway (I've sent you an email Rosemary)!

I adore these blocks. I love merging two fabric lines together, it is a fun challenge and always a beautiful result.
