One of the Book Quilts...

I really have been sewing--although it's mostly stuff I can't share yet. But I do have a photo to share of one the quilts from my book A Quilting Life: Creating a Handmade Home. I needed some photos of a few of the quilts for an upcoming magazine article, and my wonderful friend Korindi took the quilts one day and later that night emailed me the most amazing photos. I'm sharing a couple today that we decided not to use for the magazine article but that are beautiful nonetheless. The quilt above is one of my very favorite quilts and is called "Vintage Snowballs." It is made with a layer cake of Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934, background fabric, and just a little bit of yardage for the borders. I love snowball blocks, and with the setting of these blocks you don't need to worry about matching any seams, so it's perfect for the beginner or for the more advanced quilter who wants a quick project!

The back of this quilt is a favorite too...I was so happy Korindi took a picture of the cute label fabric I used for the back. I had to use a strip of another print from the collection for the center of the backing, but I love that "pop" of color, too! As you can tell, it's really not very green here yet, but we can definitely tell that spring is on the way--the fields will be beautifully green very soon!

I did sell out of the signed copies in my Etsy shop, but have another set of books on the way, so you can pre-order one here if you'd like one.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you get to sew today!

The front and back are really pretty! I love how she threw in the stop sign. It mimicks the shape of the quilt block.

Oh I love that quilt! It is so pretty. I like the labels on the back. I just got some label fabric for a quilting guild class and I would never have thought to use it as backing. How awesome is that :)

Thanks for the pictures! I think your vintage snowball pattern is the perfect design to use on those collections that you really want to display the bigger fabric sections. I have fallen for PB&J recently and am waiting on a FQ bundle to arrive. This pattern would be perfect!

Thanks so much for sharing Sherri! Your quilts are so amazing and beautiful. I just love being able to capture them. The crazy thing is that I decided to go to this location last minute and that stop sign was already there....it was fate :).

Hey, Sherri! My copy of your book just arrived today and I'm enjoying it very much! I especially enjoyed seeing that beautiful picture of Grandma's sewing machine which I remember so very well from growing up, and the stories of Grandma and Grandpa Fitzgarrald. It's a beautiful book and I wish you much success with it.

Your cousin,
Steve Arnold

Great fabrics! How did I miss that you had the books in your etsy shop? Either not paying attention or just too busy!
