I know I've been a little missing around here lately...I have to confess I've been watching a lot of Olympics, and it has definitely affected my machine piecing. I have tried to have some hand-work each night to work on, though! I finished up the binding on my Denyse Schmidt Granny Square quilt...it's going to be just perfect hanging on the wall in my laundry room.
I need to add a hanging sleeve, though...I wasn't thinking about using it for a wall hanging when I did the binding. Now that this quilt is complete I need to get working on my Great Granny quilt which I will definitely make larger!
I also finished up the binding on my "Roadshow" Schnibbles made with Minick & Simpson fabrics...love this quilt!
Part of my summer has been spent trying to finish up Works in Progress...I'm making a little headway and got this "Rosettes" quilt (pattern by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree & Company) back from the quilter the other day. I started it about 2 years ago, and it's been hanging in the closet without a backing since. Last week I was able to find a good sale on some perfect backing fabric (a more recent 3 Sisters line that coordinated terrifically with this older line). I'm hoping to start binding tonight!
I really heart this block design...in fact...I think I'm going to make something like this again soon...and maybe use some Marmalade....a bright version of this quilt would be so fun!
I did start a new project the other day...I raided my Amy Butler stash and started making flying geese...a lot of flying geese...112 to be exact. Now I just need to find the time to trim these. I think I have 4 of her recent lines represented here, Cameo, Lark, Gypsy Caravan, and Soul Blossoms...and they all play so well together.
I'm trying to be happy in spite of the heat...although it's been really miserable here lately. Usually we just have a "dry heat," but we've had humidity as well...the combination of 115 degrees and 15% humidity hasn't been fun. I just can't help longing for fall...I know it's just around the corner!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
