Spring break has been wonderful...beautiful weather and lots of time to sew! I finished two projects early in the week and decided Wednesday was going to be a work in progress day! I'm not quite finished with the binding on the baby quilt I showed a sneek peek of the other day...but I'd like to share it anyway!
I used Camille's Piece of Cake 3 pattern...so simple and fun. To make it baby quilt size, I just made 9 blocks and added a narrow side border (I think it turned out perfect for a crib--about 40 x 50). I made the top and bottom borders just as the pattern called for. Although the pattern is a layer cake pattern, I was able to make this quilt from Vintage Modern scraps, so that was a plus, too! Since yardage of Vintage Modern is not yet available, I used a print from the Ruby line for the backing, and I made a scrappy binding using all of the different pinks.
I'm also trying to finish up my "Summer Day" Schnibbles quilt this week...working with the Strawberry Fields fabrics again is so much fun...I really heart this fabric!
I have all 49 blocks ready to set together--finished quilt top coming soon!
