Getaway...

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary last weekend with a family getaway. Our youngest son had an event to attend in southern California, so we took the opportunity to visit some of our favorite places on the same trip!

Of course we had to visit Newport Beach...and do all the "beachy things" that can be done at the end of March...sit and look at the ocean, listen to the waves, walk along the sand, and eat dinner at one of our favorite restaurants...

There were beautiful flowers and perfectly manicured lawns everywhere we went...kind of made it hard to go back to the desert. But, it was good to visit Newport, and the mini-vacation was the perfect start to my spring break!

I'll be sewing the binding on this quilt today...it's a baby quilt for my cute neighbor across the street who is expecting a new little one in May...I'll share this asap!
