You know it's time to get decorating when your teen-aged son asks when you are going to decorate. I'm not quite finished...we still need to get our tree up, but at least it's looking a little bit like Christmas here!
I finally managed to create a tiny version of Carrie's houses...and now I need to make more of these. If you love her regular sized houses, the tiny one will be a favorite as well!
Having the chance to sit down, put my feet up, and look through a favorite magazine is a real gift in and of itself at this time of year. I can't wait to have a moment to browse these two publications which arrived this week. It's so fun that my friend Thelma's amazing Red & White tribute quilt has a feature inside the latest American Patchwork & Quilting, and my sweet friend Kim has the cover quilt!
I'm hoping to do just a little more decorating, a lot of sewing, and a little bit of relaxing this weekend. How about you...how are your holiday plans coming along?!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sherri, what a lovely post! Made me smile...nice to see the decorations, and lovely to hear about the accomplishments of your quilt friends...and of course, your little house is soooo cute! Enjoy the weekend!
my teenage son just asked me the same thing! love your decorations and nativity scenes :) and that little house made me smile!
Have fun with your magazines. Hope you get your tree up this weekend.
Yep - when the teenagers start asking, it's definitely time! Oh, but your decorations are lovely! Guess it's time to pull out my sweet little ceramic angels and stuffed Christmas frogs (I can hear them pounding on their boxes right now, trying to get my attention!)

That's funny about your son having to ask!!! And luckily, my friend loves to decorate for Chritmas (me not so much) and she has done a wonderful job - so it's looking pretty festive around here!! First time in years!! Kris
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't have their tree up yet. We missed the Thanksgiving weekend window and have been too busy finishing up basement repairs etc. Thanks for the picture of the cover too! :)
Have fun decorating...love that sweet little house!
You're so lucky you got the version with Kim's quilt on the front -- mine has the other quilt. Your decorations so far look great!
That is definately a sign that it is time to start decorating. I love the photos you posted, it looks so beautiful. I am planning a 'doing' day tomorrow which will put me in a great position with my Christmas planning!
I love the little house, have a great weekend!
Holiday plans? :-) I'm so not ready for Christmas! Looks like you're getting there, though. Love your tiny house. Adorable!
I love your version of Carrie's houses. So cute. Just want wish you a Merry Christmas and to say hi on behalf of Jackie. Both of you have talented blogs.

I am enjoying seeing everyone's decorations this year. We are not decorating because we are moving from So Cal to Utah the day after Christmas. I don't feel like having to tear down Christmas decorations and pack them up Christmas night so we are just not decorating. We will be spending Christmas eve and day with my parents and they have decorated so we aren't missing much. Thank you for sharing so I can get into the holiday spirit even though I have boxes taking over my house!
That is cute that he would ask! Love your little house, how neat!
Love your decorastion and the little house is very cute.
Happy weekend
Lovely, likes me a lot everything
Your decorations are lovely.
Kids are so funny how they like things just to be the same every year.
We just put our tree up tonight.
What a great feeling to get your Christmas decorations up! It sure makes the house feel even more festive, doesn't it. Love that little house block! Hope you enjoyed relaxing and catching up on your magazines. I love moments like that.
Lovely decorations festive and cozy! Can't wait to see the new magazines, they look so inspiring.
