In my stash report post I mentioned I had received some other fabrics that I would share soon. Well, here they are! Recently I was received this wonderful fabric from Amanda and the folks at Robert Kaufman. Swiss Chocolate is Amanda's latest fabric line and is available at FatQuarterShop--yardage is available now, and pre-cuts will be available soon.
The colors are rich and vibrant with modern patterns and designs. I have to say I'm a bit partial to the blues in this line, but I love the reds and pinks as well. The colors are darker than I've been working with lately; however, I have really loved sewing with these! My younger daughter (who doesn't often comment on fabric) saw the pre-cuts the other day and immediately said, "Mom, you should make me something with that fabric!"
I set to work right away on a table runner so I could play with the colors in this line (pattern is "Box Lunch Runner" from Heather Mulder Peterson's book On a Roll Again).
I think I want to make this quilt, too. It's the free pattern Amanda designed to go along with Swiss Chocolate. You can find the pattern for Amanda's quilt along with a cute pincushion pattern on Amanda's blog here!
Not only did I receive a Ten-square and Roll-up of Swiss Chocolate to sew with, but Amanda and the folks at Robert Kaufman sent along a Ten-square and a Roll-Up of Swiss Chocolate for me to give away. Just leave a comment on this post, and I'll pick two winners on Wednesday evening. One comment per person, please. The first winner will get to pick either the Ten-square or the Roll-up, and the second winner will get the other! Good luck, and have a great day today!
EDIT: Winners are Mary and Mama Pea...I'll be sending e-mails to both of you! Congrats...I know you're going to love this fabric!
