While working with my scrappy blocks last week for this post I realized some of my newer scraps hadn't yet been included in any of my blocks...so my first project this week was to make a few more blocks. It's great to now have some Verna, Central Park, Meadowsweet, Katie Jump Rope, and Flea Market Fancy added into the mix.
All of my "Sugar Twist" blocks (pattern from The Pattern Basket) are assembled...it's time to set together this quilt top...and pick a border...yay!
And I've been doing a little hand-quilting with some of my Flea Market Fancy!
I really was trying to keep from buying any fabric until after the end of the year...but some amazing lines have come out. I love Innocent Crush by Anna Maria Horner...might have to pick up a few more from this line (in January, of course).
Parisville by Tula Pink is also amazing--the "Mist" colorway is my favorite!
And Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks, Volume 2 arrived in my mailbox today...I was so happy to have won a copy--this is an amazing magazine. See the tabs at the top...those are all of the blocks I like! I think I'm going to do a scrappy quilt with these after the holidays.
Weekend reading here...Interweave had a buy one get one free special on their Gifts issues--I haven't had a chance to look at these yet but will this weekend!
The latest issue of Where Women Create arrived too...how am I going to sew this weekend...I have so much reading to do!!!
And finally...I'm not sure what took me so long to order this book Simple Graces: Charming Quilts and Companion Projects (That Patchwork Place)
I'm working on my project for Monday...be back then with another simple gift idea! Have a wonderful day!

I just got Kim's book, too. I LOVE it. I have them all. Am going to do a book review of it next week! I wish I was as far along on the Sugar Twist quilt as you!
Sherri always so much inspiration on your blog, just love all those blocks...
Love your scrappy project - sweet blocks.
I knew you'd love Kim Diehl's new book - it's fabulous. It goes from room to room with me. LOL

Sherri,
Delicious fabrics! Love the color combinations. =)
I love all the projects you are working on! I want that 100 blocks volume two magazines. And all those other books and magazines look great!!!
You might want to rethink the no fabric purchases until January. Can you say Black Friday, Cyber Monday and End of the Year Sales???
I learned that lesson the hard way one year. ;)
Love your scrappy blocks and the Sugar Twist. :D
Hi Sherri,
You always have such fun projects underway and I love to see what you are up to. I am also loving the gift ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Mary

I love all the colour in your piecing! I'm new to quilting, and the colour and fabrics can be awe inspiring.
I'm loving the hexagon quilt. Your hand quilting looks really nice, too. I wish I had time to hand quilt all of mine -- they feel so different.
Looks like you're going to be reading for a while! Lots of fun magazines, and Kim Diehl's books are always beautiful.
Sherri, I really like these blocks you are making! The white centers really bring attention to the colored print fabrics. Great fabric and book inspirations too. Can't wait for Monday's post.
