Hexagons...I really, really ♥ them! My Accuquilt Go! Cutter has made it so simple to get them ready to hand stitch. I've literally been making hexagons all summer. (I used 3" by 3 1/2" rectangles of Flea Market Fancy to cut these hexagons...and yes, these are the only Flea Market Fancy prints I have...if anyone knows where I could buy 3 1/2" squares of some of the other prints, please let me know)!
I've ordered paper pieces to go with each size on the hexagon die...2" for the largest, 1" for the middle, and 5/8" for the smallest size.
I also traced around the blade with a Sharpie to help me know exactly how to line up my fabric. You can see the paper pieces on top showing there is plenty of room to fold down each edge around the paper shape. I use plastic coated paper clips to hold my fabric to the paper until I have the first couple of sides basted (thanks for the idea, Lori)! Oh...and speaking of good ideas...go HERE to see Rae Ann's amazing stash organization ideas...one of the best posts ever for organizing your fabric! But come back..because there is a giveaway here...now!
I received my Accuquilt Go! Cutter earlier this summer when Carolyn e-mailed and asked if I'd like to review it...and now it's time for a giveaway! You have three ways to enter...first, go to the Accuquilt site, look at the dies, and come back leaving a comment letting me know your 3 favorite dies (there are some fun, new ones too that are on my "must have" list)! For a second chance to win become a follower of my blog (leave a comment if you're a new follower or if you are already a follower). And for a third entry, blog about this giveaway and come back and let me know that you've blogged about it). I'll keep the giveaway open until the end of the day September 2nd, and announce the winner on September 3rd! And...I'll be back soon to share what I've been working on this week! Have a great day!
