Last week I was in a quilt shop looking through the Moda pre-cuts (just to see if there was anything new, of course)...when I spotted a jelly-roll of Shangri-La. Shangri-La is one of my favorite lines, and I've used nearly every bit of it I ever bought...so of course I had to get it! And then I had to make a Dresden block out of Patisserie since Stephanie's was so cute.
Yesterday I was at another quilt shop, (Quilted Works in St. George, Utah)...and they showed me a brand new book that had just arrived. Nancy Halvorsen is at it again; her new projects were just too cute to pass up--plus...it's never too early to start working on Christmas gifts. (You can probably see where I'm going with this... I had to buy it)!I wonder if the food from the Farm Chick's book could just magically appear in my kitchen to feed my family so I could spend more time sewing???!!!
Have a wonderful day!

Sheri, you are SO good for our economy. Thank you!
Great day at the quilt shops!! I need to get Heather's new book! And I love, love, love, The Farm Chicks book!!!!!! And their blog!
Happy stitching.
Lot's of lovely goodies!!! I've been eyeing off some more jelly-rolls too ... not that I need them LOL, might HAVE to buy them though :o). I'm sure I'll put them to good use - eventually he he he.
Hugs,
Joy :o)
I like the Bloom project with Cotton Blossom fabrics. Very good!
I love "had to" days!! I "need to" find the magazine you showed, because I "have to" get it!!!
You are too funny! At least with all your quilt shop visiting, you are making things with your purchases! What do you think of that Farm Chicks cookbook? I have seen it at the bookstore, but haven't had time to look at it.
Definitely "had to". Good for you. LOVE your dresden. :o) If you figure out how food magically appears on the table could you send those fairies my way?
I'm gonna have to get that Farm Chicks book. I see it on everyone's blog.
Sherri--I have been finding so many things that I have had to have lately, too. I bought some fabric by bernatex--the cider mill road line to make my home sweet home row quilt. I am excited because I am tweaking the row where the border fabric goes, since I don't have any, and putting in a row of apples. I think it will blend in perfectly. Have a great week!
I have those days too! Sometimes you just gotta have and you just can't stop at one.
Yes, when you have to have it...buy it!
Love the fabrics..
Julia ♥
Just think how sad it would be if you went back later and they weren't there. If you love it, take it home with you!
We need you to have more time to sew too...then you can supply us with more inspiration. I was loving the background quilt...was it yours or at the quilt store?
Love your dresden plate...did I see this right; you made it from the jelly roll? I really want to try to make a Christmas dresden & if you made it out of the jelly roll, I am seeing possibilities :)
Sherri, all your goodies look like they are going to be fun to make. Crockpot and grill is the easiest to make time to sew unless that little fairy would cook too. Still waiting for her. Gotta check that book out. Thanks for sharing.

V. here...
such a wonderful array of Fabrics and books. You are so lucky to have such wonderful quilt shops available. I am always having trouble finding your favs here. For Mothers Day I went to Seattle and my daughter took me to a Japanese book store and I purchased my first Cotton Time. Then I held it up for a photo with the Seattle Space NEEDLE in the background!!She loves quirky photos.
Your dresden block is beautiful and I love the fabrics that you've chosen. You sure have quite a few projects going on at the same time. You're one busy woman!
Aloha!
Hi Sherri! I have to have that magazine :) Where did you find it?
Hi Sherri,
hmmm...lovely "have to"s! And you're so quick using your treasures...!
Hmmmm...but don't I spot a little "cheating"? ;o) Do you have secrets? The Dresden Plate is made of 'Patisserie', isn't it? You made another one with Fig Tree fabrics!?? It's beautiful! You're amazingly fast creating beautiful things!
Hugs, Julia
Did I hear you were at Quilted Works yesterday? Me too! In fact, I was there twice! Where did you get your farm chicks book? I've been wanting one of those.
Looks like you had the perfect day, I too love that Shangri-La and used every bit I bought...good for you to find more!
Sheri, you got so many beautiful fabrics and I love the Farm Chicks book or all the Art from the Heart books. And how can you resists those beautiful Moda jellly rolls. I always ended up with more goodies too...so this is so fun to see another quilter with all her fabulous buys.
Have thought about getting that cook book, what do you think about it.
What a fun day you had...I love the 30's quilt on the table...will you share the whole thing...it's so fun!
Great things you "had to" have. Love them all too.
If they show up...I'm buying the book!!
When you get the food appearing thing figured out let me know!!
I'm pretty much addicted to digi-scrapbooking right now and the kids are lucky if they get fed!
I am a Nancy Halverson fan as well and I bought my copy a few days ago. Love it. Need a card holder and she came through for me. I have the Nancy Halverson Christmas shrine at my house....hahaha

I'll make you a deal, Sherri...You come live nearby and I'll feed you and your family homemade goodies and meals every day, and you can sew to your heart's content...of course, you'll share your finished products now and then, so my house will end up filled with fabulous quilted beauties of all sorts, and you and your family will be pleasantly plump! Deal?
Those are great had to purchases! And wouldn't it be great if food could magically appear?
Kris
That new cotton time is a good one! Fun.
