More Patisserie and More Pinwheels...

Before I had even finished my first bag made from Nanette's "Mixed Bag to Quilt" pattern I knew I would be making more; I also knew that I would be making one from Patisserie...problem was Patisserie wasn't available yet in yardage, so I patiently waited. Now, a few fat quarters and a yard later my bag is finished. And the zipper bag I made the other day is perfect to go inside (a matching checkbook cover will follow soon)!
The front and back are different...and I had trouble narrowing it down to just 12 fabrics to use! I've also been experimenting with a Moda Bake Shop product, the Turnover. I love them...they are a real time saver as are all of the Moda pre-cut goods.

I purchased Joanna's booklet The Pastry Shoppe which has six different Turnover patterns and started the quilt "Cherry Turnovers." Seven blocks are finished...eighteen to go. I love these quilt blocks...they go together wonderfully...and pinwheels just might be my new favorite block!

Oh, and a little update on my leftover pinwheel blocks from Nanette's "All Dressed Up" quilt. They've found a home in a new quilt of my own design which is coming together quite nicely. It might have been finished by now...but somehow about 20 rectangles of Kona "white" ended up in a quilt pieced entirely from Kona "snow." (Note to self: keep the Kona "white" and "snow" clearly separated)!

Have a wonderful day...and I hope you get to sew!

I love both of those. I had a pattern set aside for Patisserie and now I'm thinking I might make something else from it. I don't know if I want to make two of the same pattern though. I can't wait to see both of yours finished!

Now I'm really wondering if you ever sleep. Terrific bag, which reminds me I have that pattern, must dig it out and take a closer look at it. Your pinwheels look lovely.

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness so much eye candy to see today! I love the bags - Nanette's pattern is sweet. I'm bagophobic so I don't make bags - just admire what everyone else makes. LOL

And, your pinwheels are adorable - love the setting. Perfect!

I like the block with the center in the pinwheel. Something I might try. Your pattern with the pinwheels, blocks, and sashings is very cute. Happy Sewing.

Your bags are spectacular...I'm like Darlene...scared to death of bags...I love them, but I'm petrified to make one. Love your Fig Tree Pinwheels and I am over the top with your scrappy pinwheel quilt.
What a wonderful post you did today!

I love the bag in the Patisserie line. And your pinwheel quilt is adorable. Can you tell me about Kona snow, is it whiter than Kona white? I use the white--didn't know there was a snow.

I could hang out all day on this post. First off you are too sweet. Thank you for your kind words. Secondly the bag and zipper bag are lovely in Patisserie. It is beautiful fabric. Rich and lovely. You are an excellent sew-er. And your projects turn out so well. Love the pinwheel quilt. LOVE IT. I can't tell the difference between the snow and white in this pic anyway. I am going to make a new dressed up quilt to put at a store for shop hop. So I'm excited about making a new quilt with pinwheels! You and Dawn are my very incredibly special friends. My husband, who never remembers anyone, asks how you 2 are doing from time to time and when I talk about you he doesn't say "whos that"! So you know you are famous at my house. It is funny because tomorrow I'm going to post fabric strilps sewn together for a smaller bag just like you have in your zipper bag there. Great minds think alike! ha

Now aren't those the cutest little pinwheel blocks with the square in the middle. Love them.

Nedra said...

Every time I see a Nanette bag done in different fabrics I want to drop everything and make another! I've purchased more ric rac, and the buttons to be covered, so I know the another one isn't too far away.
