Half-Square Triangles and other Things

All of my Noah's Ark stitchery blocks are now complete...they just need to be put together; each month I had a new favorite as the new design seemed to be cuter than the previous one...I love them all! Thanks Lynette, for the free patterns!

And, I'm starting a new stitchery project by Lynette Anderson Designs called Your Home or Mine.
The leader of our "Pink Ladies" stitchery group made a few design changes to the layout of this quilt requiring 288 half-square triangles that are one-inch finished...and yesterday I made 198 of them...only 90 to go! I'm using fabrics from "Collection For a Cause-Heritage," "Cotton Blossoms," "Portobello Market," and even some "Shangri-La."

A few new charm packs have come home with me lately..."Beach House," "Swanky," and "Aviary." Now the "Simplicity" charm pack I've had since that line came out and have never been able to use it (it's just too gorgeous)! I noticed that it coordinates perfectly with "Aviary" and now hope to use both of them in one quilt!

And finally...a finish by younger daughter...she completed her first rag quilt yesterday! She is always telling me she is not and will never be a quilter...but she really wanted to make this quilt and was pretty happy with her accomplishment. She even commented that she might make another quilt one day...!
Happy Sewing!

Hi Sherri,
Love the Noah's ark blocks...so cute. One inch half square triangles, yikes. I've made those before. I hate squaring them up and 288 of them...I'll be cheering you on!! Tell your daughter her quilt looks beautiful, she did a great job.

You have inspired me to finish the last two blocks of the Noah's Ark quilt....I love the rainbow block at the top following thru from the one below...those charm packs are pretty...so I am not the only one who has fabric they havent cut into because it is just way too pretty! Good luck with the HSTs - I agree with Karen...it is the squaring up that gets me!!

Yay for your daughter making the quilt, it's fabulous!!! I have 2 daughters and right now neither of them has the slightest interest in stitching [sigh]. Oh well, maybe one day .... ;o)

I'll have to download the Noah's Ark pattern...yay, more stitchery! I love Swanky and Simplicity too. I think they are beautiful. Sssooo, I take it those little one inch square triangles must take...what, maybe 3 stitches to finish?! That is nuts!!

Your Noah's Ark blocks turned out so cute. Wow, that's a lot of HSTs and small! Your daughter did a wonderful job on her quilt, it looks great. Love the charm packs, I'm totally addicted to them. I don't need to be buying so many with a large stash I need to be using but it's fun to have a piece of each fabric in a collection. So many fun charm quilt patterns too. Thanks for sharing.
