It has been a busy week…I’ve had to use small periods of time to get some sewing done. These are blocks from a project I hope to have finished this week. They’re not whirlygiggles…I can’t wait to show you this little quilt!
On Saturday I was up at 5:00 a.m. to get younger son on a bus for a basketball tournament–in a town over two hours away! Of course, by 7:00 a.m. I was on the road to watch. So with four hours in the car (round trip) and eleven hours in the gym (sitting on bleachers)…what was I to do…stitchery was my solution!
I’ve recently received some blog awards…I’m very appreciative first to Mel who awarded me the Proximidade award. This is a Portugese award…”Proximidade” translated in English means “vicinity” or “neighborhood”…emphasizing that blogging brings us closer together.

Can’t wait to see what you’re doing with your “not whirlygiggles” blocks. Your stitchery is so soft and pretty. I’ve never manage to be able to sew in the car. Good for you.

Your Saturday sounded like my Saturday, devoted to a teenage son. But not a better way to spend our time.
Love the fabrics being used for the new project.

Why did I look at your block? Now I have another one on my long list of to-do’s.

Hi Sherri,
Can’t wait to see your finished quilt with the blocks you’ve made. Congratulations to your son for the all tournament team. I’m very thankful for hand sewing too. Our girls dance and this is the season for competitions…the last one was 3 days. Thankfully it was close to home and we did’t have to stay over. I like to bring my paper piecing hexagons.

Your Leanne House blocks look wonderful. It might be one of my new projects once I finished … and … and … etc. etc. You certainly were rewarded by your son and his team, after all the time you put into driving and watching. Have a nice day!

I’ll be sitting in the stands this weekend sewing – watching swim meets. How do people just sit there for hours on end not doing anything. I’ve gotten alot done over the years while attending kids sporting events. Can’t wait to see what your blocks will turn into. I love that runner you made with the ‘oh cherry oh’ fabric – so pretty and spring-like

The stitching/embroidery on your blocks is wonderful. It adds so much personality to a quilt. Wow.

Your 2nd block of the Leanne's House BOM looks gorgeous! After stitching this one I had to take a break from this BOM, lol…now I'm haven't made that much progress…the third is finished & block 4 & 5 are pieced and prepared for stitchery…
Congrats on the awards!!
