Hello and happy Tuesday! I was able to finish up some works in progress this week end…and while it was fun to finish up every one, the first one I’m going to share was extra special.
A couple of years ago I received a layer cake of the “Oink-a-Doodle Moo”
collection by Jen Ski for Moda fabrics. I quickly sewed the layer cake squares into a cute little throw, thinking I would donate it (sewing Layer Cake squares together in a 5 x 6 or 6 x 7 lay out is my favorite way to make donation quilts). But then I just couldn’t give this quilt away. I kept thinking maybe I would have a cute little one to gift it to someday!
I absolutely love the fun hexagon quilting my friend Kaitlyn did that mimics the chicken wire prints…so fun! And…I do have a happy home for this quilt to go to for Christmas this year!
Kaitlyn also quilted my Coney Island mini quilt. Now this wasn’t a work in progress for very long, but it still feels good to have it finished and bound, and out of the drawer!
Kaitlyn did a fun all-over swirl pattern on this one which she sized down to fit this smaller quilt. I think it turned out perfectly (if you still need quilting for Christmas, you can email me and I’ll give you Kaitlyn’s contact info.).
I’m hoping to get this hung up on the wall today!
I have another work in progress to share tomorrow…but along with getting three quilts back from Kaitlyn, I also received my Quilts and More cover quilt home…so happy to have it here since it’s been away since last May!
I really, really love this quilt…I sewed it while on vacation last March on the Oregon coast, and so there are lots of fun memories along with this quilt!
Hope you are having a wonderful day…thanks so much for stopping by!

Beautiful quilt finishes!! Now if Kaitlyn lived closer to home…..I could keep a long arm quilter very busy. I have quite a few that I need to do 'soon' – I'd rather be piecing the next quilt. Plus, I never feel I can do these quilt tops justice, with my beginner quilting skills.

It is so fun to see finished quilts! I finished my Judy Niemeyer Summer Solstice quilt top tonight, but I have no plans for quilting it in the near future. I am just so pleased to have the New York Beauty blocks, the Lone Star blocks, and all the Y seams done!

so fun to see your finishes. I especially love that Coney Island: I bought it this year at PIQF. Not doing much sewing; too many life things that HAVE to get done. Someday….. Have a wonderful day my friend!! Hugs, H
