Hello and happy Wednesday! I usually try to post about works in progress on Wednesday, which I’m doing today but with a slightly different twist…
You see, I’m headed out to a retreat where I’m teaching three classes and also
hoping to get in some fun sewing for me…so my works in progress from the last few days have been “getting things prepared kind of projects.”
The fabrics above are from my stash…some oldies but goodies mixed in with a few newer prints…I’ll be sharing that project soon because some of it is for a project I need to finish before the retreat.
And…while I’m at the retreat I plan to set my Splendid Sampler blocks together. I have all 50 blocks and have cut the scrappy sashing, setting posts, setting triangles and inner border for this quilt. I’ll wait until it’s set together to decide on an outer border!
I’m also taking along my string block project (hoping to make 12-15 of those), some unfinished log cabin blocks, and my next set of blocks to piece for the Fat Quarter Shop Patchwork Quilt Along. In case I finish all of this, I’ll be taking along a kit that’s been in my stash for a couple of years and a couple of handwork projects I’ve been trying to work on here and there!
Hopefully I’ll have a lot of fun finishes to share when I get back!

Wow, that is a lot of work for one retreat! Looking forward to seeing your finishes. You are doing 50 Splendid Sampler blocks in one quilt! Great, I was wondering to myself if I could just forgo the rest of the blocks I didn't get to. I was petering out with the journey. So maybe I will also just use what I've made to create into a quilt. I keep telling myself it is not a competition and just a fun experience, but my competitive side keeps trying to win over! I love your fabric choices for yours!

Have fun retreating! Don't stress about trying to accomplish too much, but I can't wait to see your results.
