Most of my “works in progress” for the next month or so will be Christmas gifts. But I have one work in progress that I keep coming back to; I’ve decided I want to get this finished up before the end of the month. Because I love it. And because I can’t wait to see what it will become! The blocks are made with left-over pieces from my Swoon quilt, made with the first Denyse Schmidt fabric collection for Joann’s.
Although I thought about just making a wall-hanging with my star blocks, I’ve decided to use fabrics from the second Denyse Schmidt Joann’s collection to make alternating blocks. I really want this to work up into at least a lap-sized quilt. I hope to make a few blocks today and come up with a plan.
Yes, I really ♥ heart ♥ these blocks!
You can still enter the Modern Blocks book giveaway, too…I’ll keep it open until the end of the week. Thanks so much for stopping by!

These are gorgeous and great inspiration! I was wanting to do something with my leftovers too (although I've only finished 3 blocks so far). I wasn't sure whether to do something for the back or something compeltely different.

Sherri, I love your stars. I'm excited that I have some DS fabrics to start a quilt too. I would love to win the modern blocks book. Your blog and several others have convinced me to try making a modern quilt.

I am in love with scrap quilts. They remind me of quilts my family members made when I was a child. So they are the ones I make the most. This idea, for the patchwork stars you are making, is wonderful! Thank you for showing your work.
