School started Monday, and I have a wonderful new group of English 101 students that will keep me busy this semester. So we decided to make one last little getaway over the weekend and visited family in northern Utah. I had to share a picture of their newly completed waterfall…seriously, going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the water was the next best thing to being at the beach!
On the way up I was able to drop off my recently finished Tula Pink quilt to Abby who quilted it for me over the weekend (I really, really appreciated that, Abby)!
I have to share one picture of the back…a mix of Moda Bella Aqua and some of the scraps left over from the quilt front. I just love the way the bubble circles look on the back.
Of course I love the way this quilt design looks on the front too…with so many squares and so many ocean – themed prints I thought this would be a fun all-over design for this quilt.
Abby’s did a beautiful job on the quilt, and her edge to edge patterns are only .01 per inch, too…so it’s a terrific deal (if you’re not in the area you can also ship your quilts to her).
I love how it turned out…can’t wait to get this one bound and put it in the washing machine!
Of course, first I have to decide on binding. I’m trying to decide between a solid navy or a scrappy binding with some of the left-over blue prints.
Binding on this quilt is going rather slowly. Since this is only the 5th king-sized quilt I’ve made, and since it’s been several years since I made one…I seem to have forgotten how long it takes to get around each side! I did get ¼ of the way around the quilt while in Utah this weekend!
What are you working on this Wednesday? Thanks so much for stopping by.
