Today is Tuesday, and I haven’t sewn much lately. I had my two college kids home, and we had a lot of fun family time. In my mailbox this weekend was this delightful “tea house” and “tea swap” tag from Stephanie; she made these for each of the “Time for Tea” swap participants…thank you Stephanie!
I just finished the final touches on my tea swap items and will be mailing soon…I know this is a quilt blog, but I thought I’d share my favorite tea cups from my little collection. These belonged to my husband’s grandmother who loved lovely things…and they come from Germany, France, and Japan. I probably should have photographed them in an elegant setting on the dining table rather than on my cutting board–oh well!
And finally, here are a few blocks from another quilt I did a few years ago…I remember working on it during the 2006 Winter Olympics. The quilt was from Egg Money Quilts by Eleanor Burns…it was a block of the month quilt that I did through the Christmas Goose quilt shop. My favorite blocks were the Dresden Plate block and the Grandmother’s Flower Garden blocks; since making this quilt I’ve had it on my list to make quilts with those blocks!

Ha! It’s your blog so you can post pictures of whatever you like! The teacups are lovely (even on your cutting board haha). I really like the dresden plate block, too. Looks difficult, though.
Hope you get more time to sew this week.

Love your quilts Sherri, especially the last one!! I have the “Egg Money Quilts” book too (love it!!) and I’m dying to make the dresden plate quilt – one day, when I have more time perhaps :o).
Hugs,

The blocks are beautiful. Somehow I missed your last post on the dresses. (must have been distracted with grandbabies). I love what you are doing, and hope to get to my dresses quilt in 2009.

What?! I missed a line of fabric called “chocolat'”? That is not like me…I started this quilting thing too late, I’m afraid.

Sherri, your “old” quilts are wonderful. Your teacups are special too. I have some of my Mom’s that I just love. tea tastes pretty special in those. Love Stephanie’s gift too! Hmmmm. I think it’s time for a cup of tea.

Hi Sherri,
sorry if I sound boring, but I LOVE your quilts! Especially the one with the Chocolat fabrics {sadly these came out before my quilting time…sigh…love the design}.
I really don’t mind if you’d chose to show us some more old quilts ;o).
And I love your tea cups, they’re so cute!
Hugs, Julia

I LOVE your tea cups! Funny I was just looking at Eleanors book last night because I had been to my quilt class and we are going to make a Dresden plate block next. I was sure I had seen an easy version of it in that book and I love Eleanor’s directions.
Quilters seen to have a lot in common.

Of COURSE I love the 4 blocks. How cute are those! I have that Egg Money book and I’ve made 2 quilts out of it. I got her latest book but I don’t like it quite as much. Fun stuff.
