I’ve been working a little on my solids quilt…this week I made my sixteenth and seventeenth blocks!
Next I made Block 24 by Jan Patek. I used Moda Bella Summer House Lime (9900 173) and Moda Bella Aqua (9900 34). You can get the pdf pattern here. I’m using Moda Bella bleached white (9900 97) for my background fabrics.
Here are my blocks! I’ll share 3 more with you next month on the 15th, and then it will be time to set them together! Are you making solids blocks too?
With the start of summer, things have been a little relaxed and easy-going here. Small projects have been high on my list…I can’t wait to play with some of these new Moda candy squares…
Have you made any fun projects lately with Moda Candy? (I’m sharing a few Moda Candy ideas today on the Moda Cutting Table blog).
I’d also like to take a minute to announce a new parade series I’ll be having on my blog. I’ve been thinking about this for a little while, and I think it would be fun to have a monthly parade (with prizes of course). Each month will have a different theme. I won’t specify a certain project you have to make…but I will announce a different type of quilt or project for each month’s parade. Each parade will take place on the 20th of the month, and I’ll announce them three months at a time…with reminders throughout the month! So…without further ado…here are the parade themes for the next three months:
- July–Christmas in July…send me a photo of any Christmas gift or project you’ve worked on this summer.
- August–Favorite Jelly Roll quilt pattern. Send a photo of your favorite jelly roll quilt.
- September–Biggest summer quilting accomplishment–it can be a quilt or even an organizing project!
How does that sound? I think it will be pretty fun! We’ll all get to be inspired by the variety of projects based on each theme.
So, this is how it works…send me a photo and link to your blog in an email by the 18th of each month to have your project appear on the 20th. It’s as simple as that…and I’ll round up the prizes!
Thanks so much for stopping by…

For those of us without blogs can we send a link to a flickr photo instead of a link to a blog? Or must we have a blog to participate?

How about a button – would love to add this to my sidebar for others to take note of and participate.

Your solids look great! I'm doing one on black – it's the Saturday Sampler from my LQS … I think one on white is in my near future!

Love your blocks! I've done mine in Moda Marmalde but somehow somewhere the blocks ended up in my WIP pile … perhaps I just should sew what I have so far into a quilt and just let it be!?!
But at least now I have a reason to finish my xmas project which I started way back in january (I think?). Thanks!

The blocks look amazing – especially when they are put down all together – each one really pops! The parade sounds like a great idea – it will be fun to see what others are working on and it may even be a motivator for me (which I always need!!)

Am I missing something? I've entered one of your give aways and have yet to see you announce any winners? Now I see more give aways and no winners announced. What's up?
