Happy Monday! And it’s a “scraps Monday” too! I’ve really been trying to work on scraps this month. Slowly, but surely I’m making progress. I’ve doubled my string blocks…and they were started a couple of years ago, so I’m feeling really hopeful about them. I just need to keep working. I just love the patterns created by the arrangement of these blocks…so fun!
I’ve also been working on the new scrappy project I mentioned here…
And I finally started cutting some of the darker strips to go with the low-volume background strips. I’m about a third of the way there on the darker ones. I’ve been trying to cut at least 50 each evening so it’s not so overwhelming.
I still have some bigger pieces of the backgrounds I need to cut, too. I was so grateful Joanna sent me some pieces from Aloha Girl since there really isn’t any other way to get this right now!
What scrappy goodness are you working on right now…please feel free to link up your current scrap projects! (And choose the Instagram option to use a photo from Instagram…you can find me there at @sherrimcconnell
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I ended up making 4 'Beach' Quilts with Log Cabin Blocks. I just kept cutting and cleaning up my scraps and sewing and sewing and didn't realize till I was done, that I had made 250 Log Cabin Blocks. Thank You Sherri for starting me on this path. They made a 'healthy' dent in my scrap baskets. We like to keep a blanket in our cars at all times – ready for a winter emergency or a summer beach day – so our adult children were glad to receive these.

I love the idea of cutting a certain number of pieces each day. I've been wanting to work on cutting my scraps into usable pieces (2", 2.5" 5" etc, but have been so overwhelmed by the volume that I've had trouble getting started.
