Saturday Seven 390: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this post with “10 Quiet Ways to Reclaim Your Time.” Start a Summer Fun List–here are some ideas! Finally, here are the most important things to simplify in your life.
2. Recipes to Try
This Dense Bean Salad looks so good (apparently, it’s a sensation on TikTok, but I don’t have an account there). And these Egg and Potato Souffle Bites look amazing (I’m a breakfast-for-dinner person and am always looking for more ideas). I also want to make these Steak Bites and Gnocchi soon!
3. Quilt + Sew
First, I’ve got some scrappy bundles in the shop–they are perfect as a starter set for your Moda Blockheads 6 quilt (new sew along starting soon more details coming soon). Here is a free pattern for a cute apron and ruffled tea towel. And here is a fast and fun free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop.
4. Book, Podcast and Movie Recommendations
First, a movie recommendation (I don’t share these very often. I loved this new Netflix movie that we watched on Mother’s Day–so heartwarming! And I also loved this most recent episode of the Happier Podcast.
5. Summer Sewing – Free Printables
Here is a free PDF with calendar pages for June, July, and August along with space for notes, sewing project ideas, and your top three for the month. Additionally, you’ll find the release dates for our Block of the Month, videos, and podcasts listed.
6. A New Find
I found the best bags to transport my quilt kits and quilts to my upcoming quilt retreats. They fold up small for storage and would also be great for moving and for college students.
7. Recently on the Blog
Below you’ll find links to posts from earlier this week. The Bookshelf post shares my recent non-quilting reads:

I watched the documentary last night called The Quilters on Netflx. Very good! It is about men who are incarcerated in a maximum security prison and how & why they started making quilts. Highly recommend!
