Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 368: Lifestyle & More for Quilters with a fun roundup of things I’ve found from around the internet this week. Keep reading for inspiration in self-care, recipes, quilting and sewing, books, home organizing and decorating and more!
My plan this weekend is to wrap all of the gifts I have and finalize my giving list. (I hope to be done shopping today as well). Other than that, I have some new fabric in my sewing room that is calling to me!

Saturday Seven 368: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
First, I enjoyed reading this essay on “The Things We Need.” It really helped me put things in perspective as I finalize my Christmas gift purchases. I also loved these thoughts on Creating a Beautiful Winter–perfect for those of us who might get a little sad during the winter months.
2. Recipes to Try
Number one on my “to cook” this week is this new Potato Bacon Quiche–it looks so good and is a recipe from one of my favorite go-to recipe bloggers! I’m a soup-lover and can’t wait to try this Loaded Broccoli Cheese Bacon Soup. And finally, this Loaded Breakfast Hash looks like a great breakfast to easily make for a crowd during the holidays.
3. Quilt + Sew
First, today is the day that you can register for our Stashbuster Retreat with Camille Roskelley. Sign up here! If you’re still looking for small projects to make for Christmas gifting–you’ll find a variety of ideas on this post. And…I have more on quilting and sewing under number six below–I love my Cutterpillar light boards!
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
This week I enjoyed listening to “Little Life Hacks: Small Actions that Make the Rest of Life Easier” on Best of Both Worlds. I’m also continuing to read Toxic Productivity by Israa Nasir and Life-Styled: Your Guide to a More Organized & Intentional Life by Shira Gill and am enjoying both books immensely.

Sherri,
I loved our pomegranate branches sitting in the crystal vase with water. So refreshing for the Christmas season. Do you have a pom tree?
I have a tip if you are ever interested in preserving tree or elegant shrub branches (maybe you already know how to do this). You take 1 part vegetable glycerin with 1 part boiling water and mix together then add the branches to the container while the water is VERY hot. Use 1:2 ratio if you want the branches to be a bit more soft and limber. I live in the mountains and preserved the most beautiful oak and ponderosa pine branches. Into it now 2 months and they still look as good as when I first cut them. I used oak branches with colors in varying stages of turning fall color so they make great fillers for my Christmas/winter arrangements.
