Hello, friends! Thanks so much for stopping by for today’s Saturday Seven 321: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post. My Saturday posts feature a variety of fun things I’ve found around the internet and are divided into categories like wellness, recipes, quilting and sewing, books and podcasts, organizing, and more. You’ll also find links to the blog posts from earlier in the week in these Saturday posts. Enjoy!
Saturday Seven 321: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
No links for this category this week…just a few thoughts! I feel like this time of year we especially need to think about what we can do for ourselves and our health. Maybe it’s a small thing like minimizing our sugar intake or adding a 10-minute walk into our daily routine. I’ve been making some small changes recently and have really seen them pay off in just the first 2 ½ weeks of the year. So, take some time this week to make some plans just for you 🙂
2. Recipes to Try
We have rain in the forecast this weekend, so this Creamy Chicken Couscous Soup looks like a perfect meal idea. Additionally, this Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup looks like the perfect soup-season recipe. Finally, this Lemon Pepper Chicken with Creamy Orzo is another option for our cooler weather.
3. Quilt + Sew
Strawberry Lemonade Precuts are in the shop…and yardage will be arriving next week (watch the shop for those listings coming soon). The low volume (light background) prints in this collection are so good that I’ve also got half-yard bundles of the lights available. Jenni has always been good about tracking her stash, and she’s sharing an Excel spreadsheet if you’re interested in tracking yours. Finally, I love Lissa’s Hugs and Kisses quilt–(find the free PDF for the block on her blog post).
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I’m currently reading Building a Second Brain: A Proven Method to Organize Your Digital Life and Unlock Your Creative Potential. This book is excellent, and I’m getting so many wonderful ideas from it.
5. Organize
Looking for some quick organizing wins? Here is a terrific post with a bunch of 15 Minute Organizing Projects. And this post shares ideas for putting quick 15-Minute Decluttering projects into your daily routine. Additionally, I plan to do some organizing this weekend…I’ll let you know how it goes!
6. Fat Quarter Shop Livestream + Announcement!
Yesterday we were honored to be able to be the guests for the Fat Quarter Shop Livestream. We shared a fun trunk show with our Strawberry Lemonade quilts plus other favorite quilts. And we also made a little announcement there about something coming soon. Watch the episode on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube channel if you missed it yesterday.

It was so much fun watching your interview yesterday with Kimberly Jolly. It’s pretty cold and snowy where I live and your interview brought the warmth and sunshine into a gloomy day!

Thank you, Sherri, for another wonderful Saturday Seven and for inspiring me! Love your blog and videos!

Loved your interview with Kimberly the other day. I hope you add purple or lilac in your fabric lines. It’s wonderful that you collaborate with your children on art. Hope your new daughter in law gets interested in quilting too!

I, too, enjoyed the interview with you and Kimberly. Fun to see so many quilts and I love your new collection.

Sherri & Chelsi, I also enjoyed your interview and trunk show with Kimberly. It was a great show as you both have created beautiful quilts! Thank you also for answering my question about the Miss Magnolia quilt. I have already made 6 blocks and am enjoying the process. I agree with Chelsea that the block is already large enough and adding the nine patch may make it too big. I might have to make another quilt with the Magnolia pattern! It truly is a very easy to piece block.
You both create such easy to follow patterns and your tutorials are easy to access and have helped me to learn so much!. Thank you both for guiding me on my quilting journey!
