Happy Tuesday! This is going to be a very busy week here at A Quilting Life, so I thought I’d better share these red and green blocks before things got really busy. I’ve always wanted a red and green quilt and pieced my first two blocks over the weekend.
The blocks are both from a mystery red and green sampler Joanna at Fig Tree is doing. I didn’t have to think twice about signing up (although this is my year for finishing works in progress and scrap quilting…when the opportunity comes to make one of your “bucket list” quilts…you take it!
First I made the Churn Dash variation…love the secondary star that formed in the middle!
And then the Lily block…lily blocks are one of my favorites–my great great grandmother made a beautiful Lily quilt that I’d love to replicate someday.
As I mentioned earlier…this is a busy week. I have something to announce tomorrow that I’ve been keeping secret for quite a while…
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Can't wait your secret knowing you it'll be amazing!
I really love those colours together! They are beautiful. : )
Love your choice of fabrics for the blocks…just beautiful!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I have missed both of the Fig Tree & Co. mystery quilts. She told me she has a crazy waiting list for the Christmas quilt which is sold out. It looks pretty amazing. She told me to be looking for the next sign up in the fall. I've grown to love her fabrics and patterns from your blog. Her collections are rich and warm. Beautiful job!
I think I've guessed your news. I'm so excited for you!
I should have joined this BOM because those are lovely.
