Hello! Now that I’ve been home for a few days I’ve been able to unpack and sort through all of the things I was able to see at market. Today I’m sharing some favorite product finds!
One of the books I was most excited to see at market was the brand new book
Minick and Simpson Blue & White: Living with Textiles You Love. This absolutely gorgeous book didn’t disappoint! In fact, I love every page. The book isn’t a quilt pattern book but is a beautifully photographed and well-styled coffee table style book. The photography was done in Polly and Laurie’s homes along with the homes of a couple of their children I believe. There are lots of ideas on decorating with textiles with beautiful examples on every page.
Another book I looked forward to seeing was Simple Friendships: 14 Quilts from Exchange-Friendly Blocks by Kim Diehl and Jo Morton. Quilt projects are in a variety of sizes with special attention being given to using the patterns for block exchanges. I love the tips and thoughts shared throughout the book by both authors!
I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of Cotton Way Classics: Fresh Quilts for a Charming Home by Bonnie Olaveson of Cotton Way. Containing 13 fun quilt projects, this book has beautiful styled photography and quilts perfect for using a collection or piecing with favorite scraps!
I’ve posted quite a few projects made with Soft & Stable…but Annie has another project I’ve been using and loving a lot lately. Her mesh fabric now comes in many different gorgeous colors sure to work with any project you have in mind. I’ve used the mesh in the Stash and Dash bags I’ve sewed for friends and family (yes, the next one is for me!) and have loved this product for interior pockets in other bag projects as well. Annie introduced three new neutrals at market: pewter (grey), natural, and navy which all work well with Creekside fabric! She also has a new “Mad About Mesh” pattern for making mesh garment and storage bags for delicates and traveling.
And the new release pattern of Annie’s I’m going to make this summer is her Messenger Bag design…I saw the small and large sizes both at market, and while I love them both, I think I’m going to try the smaller version first!
Finally…here is some of my Moda candy haul from market! We were given packs of Moda candy to share with shop owners, but also saved some to make trades with the other designers. I gave some of my mini charms as gifts to friends, and now I have these to play with…there are so many lovely fabrics and colors that I’m going to have to decide on some projects for these soon!
This will be a long holiday weekend for us here in the United States, so I’m planning on bringing out the summer quilts, doing a little cleaning and organizing, and sewing, of course!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
