Hello and happy Wednesday! Whew…what a busy week and weekend…it was all happy, fun, and hectic, but boy is it good to have a little time to catch up now! I had cut and prepped all of the pieces for some of my scrappy log cabin Christmas blocks right before Thanksgiving and finally got them sewn yesterday.
I hadn’t counted my blocks in a while…I’m up to 46 blocks with green centers
and 37 with red centers…83 total with 73 to go! So I’m past the half-way mark!
I’ve been keeping left-over strips in this bin. Before I make my next set of blocks I’ll add a bunch of strips to this mix. And then I’ll prep a project board with all of the strips I need for the next set of blocks.
I can hardly wait to start sewing these together…because they’re getting awfully fun!
My goal was to finish the blocks by the end of this month…that just gives me a couple of days…we’ll see…
How are your blocks coming along? I know there are quite a few of us sewing! I’ll have a parade here on the blog at the end of January for anyone who wants to send in a photo of their quilt…more details on that after the first of the year. Also, I wanted to be sure and let you know that I updated the cutting instructions. I actually realized it was going faster when I had the pieces cut into more correct sizes (you still have to trim after each round, but there is less fabric waste with these new measurements). You can find the updated link on the original post here.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

What pretty color combinations! Log cabin is probably my favorite block. Looking forward to seeing more of this beauty.

I'm still waiting on my ruler (the wrong one came into the shop), but hope to make lots of these blocks, once it arrives! Your blocks look so lovely in the Figtree fabrics – can't wait to see it made up into a quilt!
