With all of the inspiration I received from Quilt Market, I just wanted to come home and sew. So I put unpacking and cleaning on the back burner and started a few projects I just couldn’t wait to make. Above is one of the new Fig Tree Mini Patterns, Mini Blossom. The full size version of this quilt is in Joanna’s book With Fabric and Thread: More Than 20 Inspired Quilting and Sewing Patterns. I was able to piece one of the quilt samples for her book a couple of summers ago and have never made my own version…so I had to make the mini. I used scraps from Bonnie & Camille fabrics for my version.
I also set right to work on a one-block version of Joanna’s new Navajo Stars pattern. You might have noticed two different versions of the full size quilt and a mini of this design from the Fig Tree booth photos. Anyway…I changed it up just a little to make it a bit smaller (using 5 strips instead of 6 for each triangle). I also added a top and bottom border to my block. Camille has a super scrappy mini version, Adorn, of this quilt block that can be found in her book Simply Retro with Camille Roskelley: Fresh Quilts from Classic Blocks. There is a fun quilt along (#adornalong) going on Instagram right now with Camille’s version.
My daughter house-sat/dog-sat for us while we were in Pittsburgh, and I promised to make a couple of projects on her wish list for a thank-you. She really wanted a padded iPad cover which I made the day after I returned home (I had started it before we left). I used a terrific pattern by Patterns by Annie called iCases.
I really, really loved the pattern. There are options for a regular size iPad case as well as a smaller Kindle or mini iPad case. The pattern calls for Soft & Stable for a stabilizer, and this really protects your device.
I loved the first one so much I made myself one right away. The only change I made to the pattern was adding the patchwork back pocket on mine and patchwork back pocket and front border on my daughters. Other than that I followed the pattern exactly.
I’ll be back soon with giveaway winners and a sneak peek of something I have in store for June. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I love both of your iPad cases and the modifications you made regarding "patchwork". I've had that pattern for a month or two and now I'm going to make it a priority to get it made! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful projects/inspiration.

Your mini is so cute and you can never go wrong with a Bonnie & Camille/Fig Tree combination, right?

Those are beautiful pieces and beautiful work on them. I need to find a project for today, tired from the weekend and it is humid out, so need something light.

Love the mini quilts, and especially LOVE the iPad case!!! If I didn't have mine in an OtterBox case, I would definitely be making myself one of those! Great job 🙂

Those iPad cases are just perfect. I spent a fair amount of time in Annie's booth at market — she has some great patterns!
