Hello and happy Friday! Today I’m excited to tell you about a new shortcut pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. As soon as I saw this one, I knew I had to give it a try!
The pattern is designed for a jelly roll along with background, accent, border
and
binding fabric. But of course the first thing I thought of was my
scraps! I immediately set to work with the scraps I’ve been working
with most recently…
and before long I had four blocks finished up (48 blocks will give you a nice-sized 61 ½″ x 78 ½″ quilt–border included).
The finished quilt shows off two different patterns, the “x” design…
and
the “O” design. Put together, it’s a scrap-lover’s dream! I didn’t sew
these blocks together because I want to add in scraps from a variety of
collections. And I’ll be adding in more background fabrics, too! These
four blocks went together so quickly that I can easily see this
being a weekend project!
I really like the accent fabric I chose, and since I have plenty of that on hand now, I’ll be cutting up the required pieces for that right away! So…to get all of the details for this fun quilt design…head over to the Jolly Jabber blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
