I must send a special thanks to Nanette who yesterday gave the inspiration for this post title. I have always collected books, spoons, china, family heirlooms, and even inspirational quotes. But not until yesterday did I realize that I collect fabric! Thanks, Nanette…it was just liberating! Today I’ll share my last Christmas fabric purchases for the year (unless I finda a really, really good sale)! Anyone who knows me knows that I love Christmas fabric…and I just had to buy these Alexander Henry vintage Christmas prints.
I also had to have the Micael Miller dots and the Lecien green dot fabric! But really, no more Christmas fabric…I need to save up for “Sweet,” “Aviary,”and “Snippets”–yummy Moda fabrics that will all be coming out next year!
And this is what I’ll be doing for the next little bit…binding. Remember all those table runners I was making? Well, I’ve got to get the bindings on! The pile of two on the left are the finished ones; the pile on the right are my tasks for today. Tomorrow I have about five more to work on! Oh, and just in case you haven’t seen this from Gail Pan…it’s a super cute Christmas stitchery you can do today!

I love how you hold down your binding, are they hair clips? I need to bind a pot-holder today and they look like they would really work! Of couse if I saw that fabric I would also have to have it “just because”

The first step to recovery is admitting you have an addiction. :o) Just kidding! I did see that darling stitchery. If I only stitched…
Bindings…that reminds me I have a few to do myself.

The vintage fabric is so cute. I have gotten a little better about collecting fabric but I still have urges.

Love your fabric purchases. Good luck with all the binding. I need to be doing a lot of that my self. 3 quilts worth are waiting at the moment.

Not a thing wrong with collecting fabrics, Sherri – especially when you come up with such pretties with the fabrics you have.

Love your fabrics! I even have one you’ve got. Second photo, left one. I don’t use it as a Christmas fabric. It fits to many others.
You know what my collector’s passion used to be: small milk cans. They’re stored in boxes now, but I think I have about 70 or so. Still buy them if I see one. Guess I’m a fabric collector too, now you mention it.

Oooh, you lucky thing :o) … sewing on the binding is my favourite part!!!
I’ve got “Aviary” on my shopping list too … and “Oh Cherry Oh”!!!
Hugs,
Joy :o)

I have been trying to figure out what I collect lately – maybe it’s fabric, like you! I love those Alexander Henry prints.

Hia, I think though if you started a recovery group we would all just encourage each other to buy more. Is that quilt made from the Harvest Home range? Beautiful colours.

Isn’t collecting fabric a great addiction???

Fabric is art. So I feel like we collect art. The Christmas stuff is wonderful. I love holiday and novelty fabric – the kitchier the better. Fabric is fun!
