Hello! I finished the binding on my first big Christmas quilt for this year just before leaving for market. I have to say this is already a favorite. I think I’m going to wash it right away so it’s ready for use this holiday season!
I love the fact that you can make this quilt with one Layer Cake and some additional fabric for sashing, outer triangles, border, and binding. I was determined to use fabrics from my stash for those and was successful (although i had purchased the setting triangle fabric not too long before deciding on this project).
I think one of the darker greens from the quilt or even from another Sweetwater collection would have made the perfect binding…but I was going for using what I had on hand and so used the backing fabric for my binding. I still like it…but I think I would have liked a darker green better.
The all-over quilting was done by my friend Kaitlyn using the Garden Gate pattern. I actually picked this pattern and am super happy with how it looks on this quilt!
So now my full size Hometown Christmas quilt and my Hometown Christmas mini are both finished…time to get working on my Scrappy Christmas Log Cabins!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
