Happy Friday! I still have more Quilt Market photos to share, but since it’s Friday I thought it would be fun to do a Quilt Market edition of my traditional Friday Favorites posts. So here a few of my favorite things from market last week…
Of course Valley is one of my favorite things from market, and I’ve had some requests for some more up-close shots of the fabric; here are four of the colorways: navy, coral, teal, and gold. The colors are warm and lovely, and the prints are versatile.
There is also a lovely low-volume colorway with wonderful shades of ivory and
bisque that we absolutely love. These colors are light enough to work as low-volume prints but are also able to stand on their own.
Another favorite at market was being given the Aurifil threads that match our collection. Thread numbers from left to right are: 5002, 2324 (this one I had in my stash already), 2140, 4093, and 2785.
Of course I did a little shopping at Sample Spree and was excited to be able to get a bundle of Strawberry Fields Revisited by Fig Tree & Company as well as Silver Linings by Laundry Basket Quilts. Can’t wait to get sewing with both of these fabrics!
Lisa of Primitive Gatherings has two new books that were on my must-find list. I sure love mini quilts, and her Little Gatherings book has 12 miniature quilt patterns along with terrific tips and pointers. The photography is beautiful, and the projects are wonderful. I love that the book is even smaller sized: 6″ wide and 8 ½″ tall. It has a spiral binding, too which makes it easy to work from.
The other book I got from Lisa is a handy book designed to keep track of your thread colors for working with wool applique’ titled My Soul is Fed with my Wool, Needle, & Thread. I love this idea. I’ve kept lists in notebooks and on my phone, but I’ve never seemed to be able to compile a good master list. This book also has lots of helpful tips for applique’ with wool as well as several project pages where you can note the project and the threads needed for that. Both books are available now from Lisa’s shop, Primitive Gatherings.
Next up is this lovely wood stiletto custom-designed and made by Annie Unrein of byAnnie.com. This tool is essential for installing zippers and also helps with bag making. One of the ends is angled for pressing and folding which is perfect for when you need something a little more than a finger-press yet don’t need to use an iron. The flat sides of the tool will prevent it from rolling off of your work space, too. I can’t wait to use this! These are available now at Annie’s website.
Oh, I also got some mini charms which I’ll be working with very soon…can’t wait to show you what I have in mind for these: Vintage Picnic by Bonnie & Camille, Silver Linings by Laundry Basket Quilts, and Jol by Wenche Wolff Hatling.
Finally…I just got word that Bright Sun is shipping today and should be arriving in shops early next week! I’ll be posting next week with a list of shops who have it available, so please let me know if you are a shop-owner and would like to be added to the list.
PS There is a big Craftsy sale going on now with all classes up to 50% off. If you’ve been thinking about taking a class, now is the time!
I’ll be back soon with more loveliness from Quilt Market. Thanks so much for stopping by!

These are beautiful! I hope you keep designing because I'm on a major fabric fast while I sew, sew, sew until I get 40 projects done. I'm through with being so far behind…Famous last words. Ha ha.
