I’ve had a few new things arrive in my mailbox over the past week or so and thought they would be fun to share today!
On Fridays I like to post about some of my favorite finds…and first up today is
the new Moda Essentially Yours basics and blenders collection which is a wonderful assortment of dots, strips, and checks in a variety of color ways! The good folks at Moda sent some scrappy goodness from this collection. I definitely need to add organizing these scraps to my list for this week!
First, though, I grabbed a couple of the yellows and added them to my pineapple block fabric pile!
I was also lucky enough to receive a copy of the book Simple, Fun & Quickly Done: 18 Easy-to-Sew Table Runners, Bags, Pillows, and More
by Terry Atkinson of Atkinson Designs. This is really a fun book if you like to give handmade gift items (or sew small projects for yourself). The book includes patterns for pot holders, table runners, pillows, bags, and the cute sewing supplies roll up on the cover. It’s a good mix of projects that are simple to put together.
I also received a copy of Sew which is a best-selling sewing magazine in the UK. They did a feature on our Desert Bloom fabric collection including some of our fabric swatch designs and a photo of Chelsi and I and my “Favorite Things” quilt. This was super fun to receive, and I’m excited to look through the rest of the magazine, too!
I finished up my magazine project the other day, so I’m looking forward to getting a lot done in the sewing room this weekend!

That Esentially Yours collection looks wonderful: another thing on my wish list!! 🙂 And I just got some more of your orange sherbet colors from Desert Bloom in the mail. I had used up almost all of them in the project that I'm working on, and I just had to get some more: they are too pretty to not have some more of them in my stash!! (the originals were only fat eighth's). So I'm not done with the project yet with your fabric, so I can't show it yet: how does it feel to be on the teased end of the quilt game?!!! LOL!!! I'll email you a pic as soon as I have permission! Hugs to you this weekend: I'll bet we'll both be listening to the same programs. 🙂

I really like these moda essentials. They are essential.
Desert Bloom is sweet. I made a bunch of tree blocks from some ones pattern on their blog, I can't remember (duh)
It looks so cute and i am going to make a quilt or something cool with the blocks for my nephew
