I was able to pick up my blue and white sampler quilt from my quilter (thanks, Val!) this week, and I am so very happy with it! This quilt is a full-sized quilt, and I used the blocks and setting from Monique Dillard’s Blogger Girl’s Block of the Month in 2013. There are actually just six block designs, each repeated twice with different fabric placement.
Monique’s beautiful setting is one of my favorites ever, too!
I think I might need to make another blue and white quilt to go with this one soon! The fabrics are all from Indigo Crossing by Minnick and Simpson for Moda.
I’ve been pondering the binding for a couple of days since getting the quilt home, and I think I’m just going to bind it in the outer border fabric. I don’t think any additional “framing” is needed around the edges, so I’d like the binding to just blend with the border.
Hope this isn’t too much picture overload…I couldn’t decide which photos to use!
And it’s a pretty cloudy day outside, so the colors are actually a bit brighter than they appear.
Hopefully I can get the binding at least sewn on by machine tonight…
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi Sherri,
What a gorgeous quilt. I love the variation of the blues against the white from what I can see. If you are looking to bind it with something, I think the darker blue that you used in the really skinny border would be fabulous to use as a border. Otherwise I think that it is perfect…

I remember you piecing these blocks and it inspired me to do the same. Well, it never happened, despite me buying the fabric and printing the patterns. Instead, I'm using indigo crossing to make the Nantucket quilt Minik and Simpson designed in reds. Your finished quilt looks gorgeous. Where we you going to use it? Is it a lap quilt or a single bed size?
