A Quilting Life Block of the Month August 2025
August Block Details
The August block features one of my favorite blocks: a scrappy patchwork star! I loved being able to feature so many different fabrics in this month’s block center. And I also love how bright and happy the outer log cabin red strips are!

I am so enjoying this BOM. I’m making two versions, one in blue and white and the other in yellow, brown, and creams. I look forward to the block each month and I love the size too. I’m not used to working with large blocks so this is perfect to help me learn new things.
Thank you
Betty

I love this quilt block series, and especially THIS block. Stars are my favorite, but having different centers for each block is going to make such a striking quilt. Thank you SO much for such wonderful patterns. This quilt is going to be so much fun to make. I have to finish 2 baby quilts and then can start making this – just for ME!

Thank you so much for your generosity with the block of the month.
I am so enjoying it, it’s not too hard and not to easy, it’s just right.

I am enjoying this series! Love that we can learn the smaller piecing, but with your log cabin setting get a block that works easily into a useful-sized quilt. I see you have started setting your blocks into rows. I would love to make progress on this as well – have you released the instructions for this yet? (I may have missed it in the chaos of summer vacations)

I’ve been sharing some of those details in the videos (April and May I think). I will have printable instructions at the end of the year.
Tina Lepley says
When will layout instructions be printable?
sherri McConnell says
I usually share those in November or December ๐
