I’ve been so inspired by these two posts (go here and here) that I thought I might do some similar posts occasionally.
Outside my window my favorite flowering plum tree is blossoming beautifully; spring is here, and it must be savored because summer comes too quickly.
I am thinking about what I’m going to make with these 50 wonderful feedsack squares I got from Glenna…the possibilities are endless!
I am thankful for the feel and the texture of cloth, the hum of my sewing machine, and the serenity of hand stitching.One of my favorite things is my great grandmother’s treadle sewing machine. (I know, I know, it needs a little quilt on top…I just have to make the perfect one)!

I was lucky to find a sale the other day…3 yards for $23…I thought that was a great price for a brand new Moda line! I’ve already started a couple of projects…more on those later!

My grandmother left her treadle to me (she taught me to sew on it – oh so many years ago). My mom has it and sadly will not give it to me. Someday!

Oww, I love your Glenna fabrics too and also your new fabric, great colors. I have the same machine, it was my husband’s grandmothers. Putting a quilt on it is a good idea, I never thought of that!!

Your gramma’s treadle machine is truly a treasure. Wouldn’t a little table topper quilt made from the 1930″s fabric look super on top?
I “collect” Joanna’s fabric as well. To date, there’s Dandelion Girl, Gypsy Rose and my next purchase will certainly be Patisserie. (sigh) I want it all.

Sherri – like Darlene, I learned to sew on my grandmothers treadle, too – yours is almost identical to hers! It’s so nice that you still have it and can display it so nicely!

Ohhh I love the fabrics. I shouldn’t look. And your feedsacks- I know I do the same thing. I love them and pet them. The machine is so lovely.

Sherri, what kind of sewing machine is that? Is it a White? It looks a lot like mine.. so I was just wondering. 🙂 I never lift mine up. But the top of it is covered with stuff! Do you have more pictures up close?
