I have just one more little post about International Quilt Market. I really fell short in the photo-taking department at this market…I’ll have to do better in Minneapolis! One little project I was excited to see, though (and that i did get a photo of), was my little quilt block for the Olfa 35th anniversary commemorative quilt.
The Olfa rotary cutter and I have been friends for quite a while…I know I’ve mentioned before that I used to demonstrate these while working at a fabric shop while in high school; at that time they were fairly new on the scene, and I never dreamed I’d one day be a quilter using this tool every day.
I was also able to get a picture of another quilt I pieced during all of my pre-market craziness.
I found the quilt I pieced for Lori Holt over in the Riley Blake booth (above, right). It went together super fast and was fun to make.
Here is a better picture of the quilt that Lori sent me after it came home from the quilter. It’s always fun to see how the quilting brings the quilts to life.
A Quilt Market post isn’t complete without a picture of Aurifil thread. There is just something about the rainbow of colors that entices me to take a photo of this display at every single market.
Finally, I need to share this photo taken inside Minute Maid Park where the Houston Astros play. The Moda appreciation dinner was held there Saturday night, and it was my first time ever being inside a Major League Baseball Stadium. When I mentioned it to my Mom she told me that she was there for the very first game ever played in the park and that my great-grandparents were in Houston visiting her and were also able to attend that first game as well. I thought that was pretty neat!
I’ll be back soon with my weekend sewing post! Thanks so much for stopping by!
